On Tuesday, April 6, the APA Alumni Network in collaboration with the Multicultural Involvement and Community Advocacy Office in the Stamp, Maryland Alumni Association, and the Asian American Student Union hosted the APA Community Networking Event. During the event, students were able to meet with community organizations to find volunteering and internship opportunities at the resource fair. Following the fair, students networked with alumni and professionals in a speed networking session where students gained insights on resume writing, interviewing, graduate school, mentorship, and job opportunities. Recent alumnus Tommy Tang who attended the event remarked, "It was great networking with the students and felt rewarding to be able to give useful and relevant advice to the students."

Photos from the event can be found on UMAA facebook page.

Thank you to the students, alumni, and organizations that made this a successful event!

APAAN raised $445 and in total, the APA Community raised $2801.47 towards UNICEF's Haiti Earthquake Relief effort.

Play-by-Play, courtesy of Captain Tommy Tang:
The 6th Annual Wiffleball was once again a blast. This year, the second seeded APAAN team Purple Wild Things reached the playoffs again. The team consisted of both new and returning players who showed great talents and sportsmanship throughout the entire tournament.

Though our first game was flaky, it was like a warm up round for all of us as we started 0-1. The team then went on to win 3 straight games to move onto the playoffs, these 3 wins included wins against potential playoff bound teams and a 20+ run scored game. The Wild Things lost in the semi final playoff game against the Blue Grizzlies, 4-3, which ended this year's run for the championship. Regardless of this tragic loss, the team had a lot of fun, met new people, and cannot wait until next year to make another run for the championship.

Until next year… NO BETTER TIME TO BE A TERP!
